Alphabet Bingo Card Generator

Start with letters A to Z

The preset contains the 26 uppercase letters of the English alphabet, one per line. Keep the full list for a mixed practice round, or replace it with the small group of letters from your lesson. To practice lowercase letters, replace the entries with lowercase forms before generating.

Duplicate entries are removed without regard to case, so A and a do not count as two separate choices. For a round that compares letter forms, make an uppercase batch and a separate lowercase batch rather than combining both in one list.

Choose an alphabet bingo card size

A 3×3 grid is useful for a short lesson: provide nine letters, or eight with a free center. A 4×4 grid needs 16 letters. The full alphabet supports 5×5 cards with 24 letters and a free center, leaving different letters out of different cards.

Generate 1 to 100 cards, then select Letter or A4 paper and one, two or four cards per page. Download the optional caller sheet with the letter list. Larger printed cards are easier to point to while learners identify letters.

Call letter names or practice sounds

For recognition practice, call a letter name and let learners mark the matching square. For a sound activity, give the sound you are teaching or a familiar example word and ask learners to find its initial letter. Choose example words with an unambiguous target for the lesson.

Use the printed caller sheet when pronunciation matters. Browser voice in the word bingo caller may read a single letter differently from the sound you intend. Agree a row or other winning pattern and check the letters before confirming bingo.

Build on letter recognition

When learners are ready to recognize whole words, switch to sight word bingo. For a picture-supported activity, the picture bingo generator accepts your own labeled images. Find the other lesson formats on classroom bingo.
